• "If it rains tomorrow, I will take an umbrella." — (Puede llover mañana — es una posibilidad real.)
• "If you study hard, you will pass the exam."
IF + Present Simple → WILL + verbo base
• If it rains, I will stay home. (❌ "If it will rain" — incorrecto)
• If she arrives on time, we will start the meeting.
• If you don't hurry, we will miss the bus.
• If he calls, I will tell him the news.
Negativo en el IF: If + don't/doesn't + verbo
• "If you don't study, you won't pass." | "If she doesn't call, I'll go without her."
Negativo en el resultado: won't + verbo
• "If it rains, we won't go to the beach."
Pregunta: Will + sujeto + verbo... if...?
• "Will you come if I invite you?" | "Will she be angry if we're late?"
CAN — permiso o posibilidad: "If you finish early, you can leave."
MAY/MIGHT — posibilidad más incierta: "If it rains, we might cancel the trip."
SHOULD — consejo: "If you feel sick, you should see a doctor."
MUST — obligación: "If you break a rule, you must face the consequences."
Puedes invertir el orden — el resultado antes y el IF después:
• "I will stay home if it rains."
• "I will call you if she arrives."
vs. "If it rains, I will stay home." (coma cuando IF va al inicio)
Promesas: "If you help me, I'll help you back."
Advertencias: "If you touch that, you'll burn yourself!"
Instrucciones con consecuencias: "If the light is red, stop the car."
Negociaciones: "If you give me a discount, I'll buy two."
Planes con condición: "I'll come to the party if I finish my work."
UNLESS = IF NOT. Se puede sustituir en el First Conditional:
• "I'll go unless it rains." = "I'll go if it doesn't rain."
• "Unless you hurry, we'll be late." = "If you don't hurry, we'll be late."
• "She won't come unless you invite her." = "She won't come if you don't invite her."

Estructura: IF + Present Simple + Present Simple
Uso: Hechos, leyes científicas, verdades generales
• If you heat water to 100°C, it boils. (Si calientas el agua a 100°C, hierve)
• If it rains, the streets get wet. (Si llueve, las calles se mojan)
• If you don't eat, you get hungry. (Si no comes, te da hambre)
Nota: IF puede reemplazarse por WHEN sin cambiar el significado.

• If it rains tomorrow, I will stay home. (Si llueve mañana, me quedaré en casa)
• If you study hard, you will pass the exam. (Si estudias duro, pasarás el examen)

Nota: Con "I/he/she/it" se usa WERE (no was) en inglés formal: "If I were you..."
Estructura: IF + Past Perfect + WOULD HAVE + participio pasado

• If I had studied more, I would have passed the exam.
• If she had called, I would have answered. (Si hubiera llamado, habría contestado — no llamó)
• If it hadn't rained, we would have gone to the beach. (Si no hubiera llovido, habríamos ido a la playa)

❌ "If she was here..." (formal) → ✅ "If she were here..." (were para 2nd conditional formal)

IF + Present Simple --> WILL + verbo base
La estructura exacta. OJO: en el IF va Present Simple, NO futuro. "If it rains tomorrow" (NO "if it will rain"). El WILL solo va en el resultado.
Variaciones: CAN, MAY, MIGHT, SHOULD en lugar de WILL
"If you study, you CAN pass." (posibilidad) | "If it rains, we MIGHT cancel." (menor certeza) | "If you feel sick, you SHOULD see a doctor." (consejo) | "If you finish early, you CAN leave." (permiso)
UNLESS = IF NOT -- El atajo
"I will go UNLESS it rains." = "I will go IF it does NOT rain." | "She won't come UNLESS you invite her." = "She won't come if you don't invite her." | "Unless you hurry, we will be late."
Ordenes, consejos y promesas
"If you touch that, I will call the police!" (advertencia) | "If you help me, I will help you back." (negociacion) | "If you see her, give her my number." (instruccion) | "If you need anything, call me." (oferta)
En el trabajo / escuela
"If you finish the project on time, the client will be satisfied."
"If you miss the exam, you will have to take it again."
"If we get more funding, we will hire two more people."
Planes y decisiones
"If the weather is good tomorrow, we will go to the beach."
"If she calls, I will tell her the news."
"If the price goes down, I will buy it."
Advertencias y consecuencias
"If you don't study, you will fail the exam."
"If it keeps raining, the river will overflow."
"If you don't hurry, we will miss the bus."
"If it ___ (rain) tomorrow, we ___ (cancel) the game."
IF + Present Simple (rains), resultado + WILL (will cancel). El error mas comun es poner "will rain" en la clausula IF. NUNCA va WILL despues de IF en el First Conditional.
"___ you ___ (help) me if I ___ (ask) you?"
Pregunta de First Conditional: Will + sujeto + verbo base. En el IF va Present Simple: "ask" (NO "will ask"). Resultado: "Will you help me if I ask you?"
